The spirit behind the brand
Since her childhood spent roaming the beaches of a remote island in Norway, Marte’s life path has been marked by a sense of curiosity and discovery. Her aesthetic is almost mystical, exploring a multi-faceted sense of femininity and a wanderer’s spirit. A compulsive traveller, as long as she has her laptop and a sketchbook to hand, Marte finds the time and creative impulse to bring her world to us. Marte pairs this instinct with an expert grasp of her materials, as she has trained to take her Gemmology Diploma in Birmingham and is now a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.

The story
A maker and an explorer
Norwegian born Marte is a collector of objects, images and art. Not only a maker but an explorer to her core, Marte’s passion is simply to roam; seeking to find an unknown place on the map or new corners of a familiar city. From the high-density colours of the Positano coast to the bleached-out villages of Greece, or from the flea markets of Paris to a neon, post-modern installation artwork, Marte finds inspiration everywhere.
Finding inspiration everywhere
Marte’s jewellery collections of handmade precious earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings have encompassed many archetypes: her beloved sea, the moon and starry sky, sunbursts, sexy lips, sweethearts, lucky clovers, big, blousy flowers, organic, shell-like forms, butterflies, snakes and foxes, floaty ‘boho’ feathers, nomadic tassels and beads, studs and more provocative spikes; even the symbolism of the written word — all these tropes appear in Marte’s pieces.
Made with care in England
All the jewellery is responsibly made in a boutique workshop in Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. Marte believes that even small things can make a difference, so recycling and reuse are essential company values. Sustainability and transparency, go hand in hand with supporting and working with local skills; all vital to the company's ethos. Our pieces are also Hallmarked at the Assay Office in Birmingham.
